Your eyes are one of the single most important parts of your body, and while they're vital for your quality of life it's surprising how many people don’t really care for their eyes in the best way possible. Because of this, taking a look at some of the key tips for better eye care is something well worth doing.

Here are 5 tips worth remembering. They can help improve your eye care dramatically and help keep your vision as clear as it can be.
• Pay Attention To Lighting – Lighting can have a dramatic impact on your eyes. Too much, and you irritate them. Too little, and you strain them to see. Try to keep light sources behind you instead of glaring in your face, and be sure you're lighting your room at the right level.

• Take Breaks – This is especially true today, when we're all staring at computer screens. If you don't give your eyes a break it can lead to significant irritation and damage. Give them a rest from time to time. If you can, a twenty second break every twenty minutes is a good rule to follow.

• Eat Right – Believe it or not, eating does have a big impact on your vision. Try to focus on leafy greens, oily fish, eggs and nuts, and citrus fruits. It will help tremendously.

• Wear Sunglasses – Shielding your eyes from the sun is important. Just as it can damage our skin, it can have a dramatic influence on your vision and impact the overall health of your eyes.

• Stop Smoking – Smoking increases the chances of macular degeneration, cataracts, and other vision issues. Stop smoking and your vision – and the rest of your health – will improve.
